Sean Fischer isn’t new to the music scene, however he is starting to get more and more recognition for his talents.
Who is Sean Fischer?
Also known as French Braids, Sean Fischer is a music producer out of Toronto. He has worked in various areas of the business, including film scoring. As well as with various artists such as Celine Dion and Fitz And The Tantrums. With Celine Dion, Sean not only produced, but also co-wrote her song “Waiting On You.”
Sean’s skills have reached audiences all over the world. In South Korea, Sean has accumulated mass success working with K-Pop bands such as NCT 127’s. With them, he co-wrote and arranged the song “Black Clouds” on the album 2 Baddies, which sold more than 3.5 million copies.
As French Braids, Sean also makes his own music. His song “Sr. Tigre” ended up going viral in Mexico, garnering more than 20 million streams. Not only does Sean Fischer AKA French Braids travel the world creating amazing music, he also speaks several languages, including French and Spanish.
One thing in particular that makes Sean Fischer stand out, other than his talent, is the fact that is able to create magic in many different genres. From jazz to hip hop, to rock and K-Pop, Fischer tends to turn everything he touches to gold.
Sean studied jazz and piano under Hilario Duran, as well as other musical studies at Humber College and McGill University. He also was in a rock band as a teenager, all setting the stage for his love of all things music. During his teenage rock band days, Sean started interning for different film composers. One of which was at The Hive studio, where he started working on theme songs for HGTV and CTV News. He notes that he still gets royalties to this day, and that this was really his entrance into the world of producing.
Currently, Sean has two careers in the music industry. There’s Sean Fischer: music producer, as well as French Braids: music artist. While Sean Fischer is signed to Honua Music, French Braids has a joint record deal with Sadboy Records and Armada Music. Keeping up? Don’t worry, it can be confusing, even to Sean/French himself. As he explains, “It can be a headache with many overlapping deals. My lawyers hate me, as I have to carve things in and out of contracts, but I do my best to keep the brands separate.”
